We are reading Brahms 4th Symphony in orchestra next week. Its third
movement has clarinet in C parts. The rest of this symphony is for
clarinet in A. And, this is the only C part for clarinet that I can find
in any of Brahms's works. Does one assume that the movement is to be
played on Bb clarinet? There are the issues of tuning, time to switch
between movements, etc. I have looked for articles or references on this
issue with no luck? Opinions???
