Dear Elizabeth,

My orchestra will be playing Pines of Rome on our December concert. We will be
sightreading the music tomorrow morning. I will be playing bass clarinet, and
your statement has greatly encouraged me. (I have been feeling depressed
lately about not playing in orchestra very often. It seems that the other
clarinetists do not consider me to be very important, or judge me, or act
condescending towards me quite often.)
I am quite elated to find that the bass clarinet has a great part in this
piece, while at the same time being a little nervous. I haven't touched the
bass since last May. So I again thank you for giving me the best incentive in
the world to practice bass at 7am tomorrow morning!

:)
