I said I would check and see if I could find out whether or not John
Denman played for the movie version of "Fiddler".

Well, I have a response from a wholly reliable source, John Denman's
wife, Paula Fan, who is on the faculty here at the U of A. Here is her
answer, verbatim:

"As I understand it, it was shared, because it literally took months
and months, but apparently John did the bulk of it. He was Principal for
the MGM Orchestra for ages, so you'll also hear him on such oldies as 55
Days at Peking, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Goodbye Mr. Chips, etc. Enjoy.
Paula Fan."

What a trip! Too bad there aren't so many jobs out there like that any
more. I personally think it would have been a blast to play for Warner
Bros. cartoons and such!
