I know of a clarinet professor who I believe owns Howarth clarinets--James
Jones teaches at Wichita State University and also plays in the Wichita
Symphony. Although it isn't New York or Chicago, Wichita is a decent Symph,
and Dr(?) Jones has a very good studio.

I spoke with my teacher about it, and he supposed that Jim was getting
kickbacks from the company, but who knows?
