Abby,
Bass clarinet isn't hard at all, and you don't even have to read
bass clef! The mouthpiece is, of course, larger, and you might need to
experiment with "positions" that give you the best control.

Re: stand partners: If nothing else, get to rehearsal first and
make sure HE gets the wobbly chair!
