Nate,

There's no reason for you to apologize for your comments about reeds. If
somebody decides to elaborate on one of your ideas (in agreement or
otherwise), then they obviously have something more that they would like
to say. When Alan Stanek made his statement about reeds, I questioned
him on it, and he was more than capable of explaining his position
without any sense of personal attack or affront. Every comment, suggestion,
question, whatever - all of it is welcome and in no need of justification as
long as it is submitted in good faith and with a sincere desire to
contribute something positive to the list (_especially_ the controversial
flame-attractive stuff, which is useful when we get stuck on topics like
whether or not it's wise to brush one's teeth before playing).

And besides, with Dan Leeson around, you have to _expect_ the occasional
jab...
