I was the one who originally suggested clarinetists can play on the good
reeds and chuck the rest. I think other people are taking the heat for it,
so I apologize. How many boxes do I go through each month with this
philosophy? The answer is 1. Not too bad, I think. Few of the Vandorens are
playable right out of the box, but those that are will work for weeks!

Look, I respect that a lot of people prefer to perfect their reeds; I didn't
mean to step on people's feet. I simply don't have time to work away with
sandpaper at all my reeds, so I do what works for me. There's more than one
way of doing things, guys -- just thought I'd share what works for me.
