Truths and rumours about V 12s. All I have to offer is more rumours,
although I'll admit that I'm the sole source. Blame me if its not true.

V12's seem to be made from a thicker blank than some of the ordinary
purple box stuff. They therefore seem to have more wood at the back of
the vamp and through the heart. It has been my humble experience that
they are more consistent out of the box than the purple guys and last
longer (due to the greater amount of material??). I'm still using them
and enjoying them although I have changed mouthpieces lately (back to my
Kaspars from the Pynes I was playing).

Vandoren may have Morre's specs, but I'll tell you that the V12's do not
seem to compare in dimensions to the Morres. I played Morres about 20
years ago and I recall them being 1 1/2 times to 2 times thicker than V12s
at the butt of the reed.
