I sent a reply but maybe not to the entire listserv. Sorry, I'm still
new at this!

Aaron Copland died in 1990 -- I remember because I too had programmed the
Copland concerto for a recital not long after his death. His dates are
1900 - 1990.

I had suggested in my other reply that the Schwann Opus catalog is a
better place to look for recent death dates. Any college music librarian
should be able to direct you to this resource. It's basically a listing
of current recordings. Also, Baker's Biographical Dictionary recently
came out with an 8th edition, so is slightly more up to date than Grove's.
