These reeds came out shortly after Mr. Morre (maker of Morre reeds)
died. He had destroyed all of his manufacturing equipment, but Vandoren
claimed to have the specs on his reeds, and came out with the V-12s.
I'm not sure if this is truth or legend, but I got this information
through the grapevine at Northwestern, which one hopes would be pretty
close to the current activity.
