Burt Hara won the audition for Philly. He was a Curtis student probably
about eight or ten years ago (I believe). He is originally from the Los
Angeles area where he studdied with Yehuda Gilad. The other finalist
included John Bruce Yea, Richey Hawley (sp?) who is principal in Cincinati,
and one person whose name I cannot remember. But, anyways, Burt is just a
phenominal player. I listen to Minnesota Orch. Broadcasts and I am always
just blown away by his playing.
