The Vandoren White Masters are designed to be used on German type mouthpieces;
the Black Masters should be used on Austrian type mouthpieces. These mp'ces have
very long facings (order of 30mm.) and a very narrow tip opening (1mm or less).

The 'traditional' purple boxed reeds and the V12 reeds are designed for French
mouthpieces.

Of course, if it works for you, all combinations of mp'ces and reeds are
allowed! :)
