I haven't had a problem with the V.12's closing up on me--maybe because I run
them through my nifty Reed Wizard?? Once I find a good rotation of V.12's,
they seem to last for awhile (at least several weeks/depending on my playing
schedule). The problem for me lately is landing in the appropriate reed
strength arena with the Prestige clarinets. I'm back and forth between 4's
and 4.5's--I've never had this problem before and I DEFINITELY do not like
it. I'm thinking of starting a new hobby making various "reed" crafts from
the mounds of unusable reeds I've acquired over the years. Vandoren SHOULD
be forced to buy back the unusable reeds they sale to us--wouldn't THAT be
nice...one can dream at least!
