to Fred Jacobowitz and any other people interested in the work of
David Maslaka,
I am a college freshman and am rather familiar with David Maslanka
My all-state band from my senior year in high school played the final
movement from one of his symphonies. From this experience of his music
I have grown to be a "fan" of his style. I had Dr. Gary Green from
Miami University as a conducter for this brief experience with Maslanka'
s work. He kows Maslanka personally and is one of the best interperator
of His work. You are right when you said the Clarinet part is hard
as nails. Maslanka has no concern for the comfort of the player. He
would never sacrafice the effect he wants to produce for the comfort of
the instumentalist. If you would like Maslanka's home address then
please write me. He is more than happy to answer any inqaries
about his music. Michael L. Henderson (mhender@-----.edu)
