This question takes me slightly off the requested info, but here goes.

The year I graduated from undergraduate school, I played the Weber
Concerto No. 2 with a local orchestra. On the day the press release was
in the Sunday newspaper (the obligatory 3 lines), my clarinet professor's
son won the state cross country championship, and was featured on the
front page of the Sunday sports section.

Trying to keep his kid modest, my teacher said "Do you think it's fair
for my student to work so hard for such a long time to prepare and
perform this concerto and get only three lines, and you get the whole
front page just for running?"

To which his son replied "I don't know - how fast did he play it?"

True story - honest!
