I want to inform all interested clarinet aficionados about the S.E.
Clarinet/Saxophone Workshop which will be held at Furman University,
Greenville, SC in November(see below). This will be our third workshop
and I would like invite you to attend this event. The past two
workshops have been educational, interesting, and fun. The first
workshop featured Robert Spring, artist/teacher from Arizona State
University. e presented two masterclasses, including a session on
multiple tonguing, and performed a fantastic recital of solo works for
clarinet, and duos for clarinet & percussion. Despite the famous ice
storm (of '94) we had close to 50 participants.
Hoping for better weather, we moved the date of workshop #2 to
November. Donald Sinta, U. of Michigan, presented a fantastic
masterclass and recital on saxophone, and Charles Stier, performed both
the Mozart (Concerto) and Debussy (Rhapsodie) on his set of German
(modified-BoehmWurlitzer) Clarinets with the Greenville Symphony
Orchestra. Strauss' "Also Sprach Zarathustra" topped off this workshop
for the 100 participants. I have enclosed a copy of our brochure for
anyone who is interested. If I can be of any help, please do not
hesitate to contact me. Thanks for your interest. Robert Chesebro
(address below).
