explanation--there are definitely pins in your barrel. I happen to
be very good friends with a master repair technician who specializes in
woodwinds. In fact, she put five pins in my R-13 in 1991. A good technician
will be able to make the repair, and after it is done properly, you shouldn't
be able to tell that the work was even done (easier on a clarinet than an
oboe.) But that's the way it should be done. If anyone wants more
information on this fascinating process, mail me directly, and I'll have Judi
