I saw the Voyager episode too. To me it looked like he didn't have
enough mouthpiece in his mouth to be totally convincing.

But I sure like the idea of finding the ultimate reed and replicating it
unlimited times!!!

To the request for clarinet/string quartet: I know that Stamitz and
Hindemith both wrote for that combination, and I have music, but I'm not
at home right now. I'll try to remember to get more exact references for
you.
