Subj: I AM lucky! ... Advantage reeds

My two cents:

I must be lucky since my experience w/ Advantage reeds seems
unlike that described by others on the list. I do not find
them much harder in strength than V12's or blackmasters.

I have played on most every kind of reed that I am aware of.
I find most of the thick blank reeds comparable in quality.

I like the Advantage reeds. I find them more consistent than
others. I do work them over w/ rush, break them in carefully.
To improve longevity, I rotate usage and grease the butts.

Of course the reed, ligature, mouthpiece & barrel act together
so maybe the rest of my set up explains the difference in my
experience (I use a Selmer S, BG and stock Buffet barrel).
