This is my second attempt to send this message...I hope you don't all get
it twice!
I also have tried Vintage Australia reeds, so I thought I'd throw in my 2
cents' worth. I bought mine from International Musical Suppliers in
Chicago, and I know that they were an exhibitor at the ClarinetFest this
summer. Their phone number is 1-800-762-1116.
I found these reeds INCREDIBLY hard, even a soft strength. I worked them
down with both sandpaper and a knife, but never got the kind of response
I was looking for. I know that Arizona is not the greatest place to work
on reeds, but ordinarily I use V-12 #4's and they only need a little bit
of reshaping (at least, the 1 or 2 in the box that will actually play!)
They are also somewhat expensive, so I would suggest getting just one box
to try at first.
Hope that helps!
