Could someone offer a brief comment about reeds and mouthpieces in regard to
C clarinets. I understand that they require a completely different mpc and
reed size. Does this present a major problem, once having cleared the hurdle
of getting the instrument itself? I see from Buffet literature that they
make a Prestige model (for the well-heeled, or perhaps for the-ill heeled who
spent their spare change on clarinet items)

It is very interesting to see a brief discussion of the character of the C
clarinet, since one has a tendency to regard C clarinet parts as
transposition exercises, not genuine compositions for that particular
instrument.
