I had the pleasure today to meet Guy Chadash. I tried a B flat 67 barrel
and am quite impressed. Apparently, he uses a different taper for each of
B66, B67 and naturaly (or unnaturally) A65. Some of the guys on Orchestre
Symphonique de Montreal are playing Chadash and really like them,
especially Bob Crowley, Associate Principal.

Guy's definetly on to something. He is working very closely with Buffet
on this and other projects including what Buffet is calling the "Vintage
R13", not yet for sale. I wish I could talk him into lining the barrels
with hard rubber, though. He seems to think that the wood ones do not
change over time -- a good barrel today will be a good one in a year. I
am looking forward to trying a greater selection of the barrels in the
near future.
