The only way to prevent our receiving this type of message is to have a
moderated list where the moderator throws away the trash before it gets to
us.

You can continue to send the messages back to the postmaster. That is
probably your best option if you feel you must do something. Unfortunately,
there are so many services looking for business that if one service revokes
their account, these jerks are usually back online the next day with another
service. I really don't know what the answer is. Maybe a blacklist for
online services.

BTW AOL software can be set to prevent the automatic downloading of attached
files. That way only the mail message gets through. If you need help with
that, get back to me. Use the AOL screenname: JohnARoman.
