If you ever get to hear Diana Haskell of the Milwaukee Symphony
play e-flat, you will hear how great an e-flat can sound. I heard her
on the Rite of Spring last year and it was wonderful and non-piercing.
So a e-flat is capable of being ". . not harsh, disagreeable and piercing"
