Also, for what it's worth...at one time (and I'm sure this is probably still
the case), the German orchestras and opera orchestras with the higher
"classifications" (such as "A", "B" and "C") would stipulate the requirement
that prospective auditionees MUST use German system clarinets. The
so-called "lesser" orchestras and operas supposedly would take all comers,
and , in fact, there ARE some "mixed" sections (allegedly!).
