I don't have much information, but this is what I know about the _Peregi
Verbunk_ (the info is from the library catalog).

The recording with Jack Snavely, clarinet, and Shirley Harrison, piano,
is on the Golden Crest label (RE-7082)--the one I heard is an LP from
1979 that I borrowed from the Fine Arts Library here at UT. The record
also includes the Hindemith Sonata, Charles Camilleri's _Divertimento
No.2_, and a piece by Andre Bloch that just left my mind . . .

According to the back of the record jacket, the edition of the Weiner
that Snavely played was published by Edito Musico.

And as far as information about Leo Weiner goes, his dates are
1885-1960. _Peregi Verbunk_ sounds very folkish--the opening is quite
Hungarian (it reminds me a bit of something from Kodaly) and Romantic.
There are some altissimo tonguing passages (which is one of the reasons
why Professor MacDowell recommended my playing this piece--I need to work on
tonguing!!), and there is also a fairly extensive cadenza.

That's about all the info I have--and I still would appreciate some more
information--particularly some insight into other available recordings,
experiences performing the piece, etc.

Thanks!
Michiya Nishino
