Subj: Arrangement of Copland Concert

Dear Clarinetists:

This summer I had the chance to read an arrangement of the Copland Clarinet
Concerto for 2 pianos and bass. It is a truly wonderful arrangement and
adds back all of the original material that is not possible in the one
piano version. It also makes the reduction much more playable. The addition
of the string bass lends a wonderful sonority to the ensemble.

Anyway, the arranger is Derek Parsons, professor of piano at Furman
University in Greenville, SC. He would very much like to publish this
version but needs some evidence for Boosey and Hawkes that this would be
accepted by the clarinet community. A short e-mail note or a more formal
letter (if you so desire) would be fine. His addresses are below.
