This sounds good to me. However, I think it is probably the case
that we all have different notation editors. For instance, I know that Tom
Ascher and I both use Encore which produces *.ENC files. (It will also
read *.MUS files, but I think that this is just an unfortunate instance of
using the same triglyph as Finale to identify files produced by Passport
Designs's down-market product, Music Time.) I think that the lingua franca
for swapped files will be to export them into *.MID files. You lose
dynamics markings and other notation but the essential line as well as, I
believe, the acutal tempi and dynamics are retained.

I would further suggest that at this point we reduce the bandwidth
and continue the discussion among those interested in this swap to do so
privately so as to not unduly try the patience of our brethren and sestren
on Klarinet who are not interested in this prospect. I am willing to act
as an initial clearing house for those interested. Please send me private
