This question of playing stuff on A or B flat interests me because
I thought that all clarinets should have the same general tone quality?
I have heard orchestra players on e-flat clarinets that just sounded like
a good b-flat player with an extrodinary high register control. I have heard
Larry Combs play bass clarinet with the agility and tone center as a b-flat.
If we don't aim for that wonderful round filling tone we have come to love
on the b-flat on an A or basset horn, than what should we aim for??
As a student and relitive beginner compaired to some on this list, I'm
curious as to the responces to this. Thanks
