I think we have a miscommunication at several levels. Robin is almost
certainly correct when he indicates that Tony's recording of the Mozart
concerto was made on a period instrument copy. I asked about this in
a posting of several days ago and was told that he used a contemporary
instrument. My comments, therefore, were based on that statement and,
as Robin agrees, Tony has a modern basset clarinet.

So in effect, this entire miscommunication arose when I inquired if he
performed the work on a period instrument (I used the word "original"
in my inquiry) and was told that he was NOT using a period instrument.

Robin, we have no disagreement if this clarification helps.
