I too have the Shifrin recording of the Mozart concerto and am very fond of
it. This is the only CD I have of Shifrin. Any other recommendations,
reactions? By the way, any comments on the sound of an extended, Basset
clarinet when used to play works within the standard tessitura of the A?

Is there really improvement in the lower tones even when not going below
the low E?
