Thanks for pointing that out.

Of course it is a semitone. However I still would rather here the orginal.

The arguement put forth by another list member is the Stravinsky 3 pieces.
In this case I don't think the same logic applies. In the Stravinsky,
playing on a different clarinet affects tonality, however playing the piece
on an "A" only affects timbre (theoretically).

Doesn't Johnathan Cohler have a comment? (he always astounds me with his
knowledge!)
