Jeff,

Following are listings of CD's I have found of octets for Mozart
operas that I have and like:

W.A. Mozart; Les Plus Beaux Airs D'Operas, Maurice Bourgue Wind Band,
Octets for The Magic Flute, Cosi Fan Tutte, Don Giovanni - Pierre Verany PV
730005

W.A. Mozart - Cosi fan tutte, Die Entfuhrung aud dem Serail - arrangements
by von Johann Nepomuk Wendt - Blaser Der Berliner Philharmoniker - Orfeo
C260931

W.A. Mozart - Le nozze di Figaro, La clemenza di Tito - Blaser Der Berliner
Philharmoniker - Orfeo C238911.

In going through our local Tower Records I also found copies of the Mozart
Octet in F Major, Sextet in Eflat Major, and Octet in E flat Major done by
the Consortium Classicum on DG MDG 301 0494. I haven't listened to yet.

But, in response to my original query, I still have not found any wind
ensembles that do not include the French horn.

Well, this is not entirely true. I DID find a CD (not listened to yet)
of the Calefax Reed Ensemble including oboe, English Horn, Clarinet,
Alto Saxophone, Sopranoe Saxophone, and bass clarinet. Doing
works by Shostakovich, Brummel, Ockeghem, and Doest. But, would like to
hear the sound of "wood"winds only...
