Hello out there world! Here I am!

I use a Vandoren B45 DOT mouthpiece on a Buffet R13 Prestige Bflat
clarinet. Could someone tell me the difference in sound between the B45
and the B45 DOT. When I choose this mouthpiece, I had a good blow on a
whole range of them, however this was quite a while ago.

I'd like to bring up the discussion on which mouthpieces are used for
which styles of music, what sound can be produced and why (the mechanical
stuff)?

I am fairly new to the Klarinet list and this is my first posting. I
thought I'd write a little bit about myself. I'm from Adelaide, South
Australia and music is my much loved hobby. I play the clarinet and alto
saxophone. I am currently in a concert band (c) and stage band (s).
When I have more time, I'm going to have lessons again. I am not
particularly good and definitely not professional, but I have a little
talent and want to improve.
