Would anyone per chance have the score and/or parts to the Septet by Joha=
nn =0D
Fr. Nisle? This delightful, humorous early 19th century composition is f=
or =0D
flute, clarinet, horn, bassoon, violin, viola, and cello. I have been to=
ld =0D
that the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde in Vienna has a copy; I wrote to t=
hem =0D
and was told that they cannot send anything for a while, since they are =0D=

"under reconstruction." Dieter Kl=F6cker has recorded the work with =0D
Consortium Classicum, adding--it sounds from the LP--a string bass. When=
I =0D
wrote to Mr. Kl=F6cker he told me that his parts were tragically destroye=
d in =0D
a fire. I also tried the library at Schloss Harburg in Oettingen, German=
y. =0D
They did not have the work. I have recently posted a request in the =0D=

Cobbett Association s newsletter. (The Cobbett Association is an =0D
organization devoted to chamber music research--membership information: =
601 =0D
Timber Trail, Riverwoods, Illinois 60015). No luck there yet, either.=0D=

=0D
Any information helping me to locate a score or parts would be greatly =0D=

appreciated.=0D
=0D
I am always interested in exchanging information/scores/parts for "good" =
=0D
compositions for 5-10 mixed winds and strings, with or without piano. In=
my =0D
opinion, there are a number of very fine older works, primarily from the =
=0D
19th century, available today only in libraries and private collections--=
not =0D
in music strores--by good composers who are not household names, but who =
did =0D
not achieve success for a variety of reasons; for example because they di=
d =0D
not compose in the latest style of the day. There are certainly also a =0D=

number of "bad" older compositions, but it sure is fun to rediscover a go=
od =0D
one. As this is probably not a topic of general interest to this forum, =
=0D
perhaps private email or (gasp!) U.S. mail correspondence would be more =0D=

appropriate.=0D
