Keith Underwood's ideas on posture and breathing related to the flute
were mentioned. I went to one of his masterclasses about a year and
a half ago and picked up on a great breathing technique. He has
people place their index finger (pointed straight up and down) in
front of their mouths and inhale VERY QUICKLY AND AS MUCH AIR AS
POSSIBLE. The more open the throat and oral cavity, the lower the
resultant air rush noise -- Keith says to make it as "jurrasic" as
possible....
