I had my dentist make a more or less permanent lip cushion molded to a
plaster casting of my lower teeth. Several thicknesses are possible and I
found the thinnest best. This is a clear flexible material which is
evidently a standard dentist material. The excess can be trimmed easily and
it can be cleaned easily if needed. It fits perfectly, as it is molded to
one's own teeth. It is easier to get on and off than one made of rigid
material. This one has lasted over three years without problems in daily
use. I have never had any further problems with endurance or a sore lip
since.
