I know Finale is a as you say daunting, however it seems to me to be the
standard though out the music world. It will do all the things that you ask.
As far as entering from the from the key board, I find it easy to do. Even a
Clarinet player like me can do it. Also the books that come with the software is

very good, it is in three volumes that organizes the info in two different ways
and one is a tour of the program.
