Most Baroque music works well with pipe organ. There are many
transcriptions of Bach, Vivaldi and others which work. The flute sonatas
of Bach and Handel sound great and you get to practice "C"
transposition. Borrow great music from anywhere, play it beautifully,
and it should work. 'Course you need a creative and gifted organist to pull
many works off. Good Luck.

I have lurked online since February and have finally written. It wasn't so
hard afterall. I am the Band director and single reed professor at
Union University in Jackson, TN. To stay sane I play with the Jackson (TN)
Symphony, sub a great deal with the Memphis Symphony (hello Jim G.) and
am a quadrupler playing the New York touring musicals when they come to
the Memphis Orpheum Theater.

Research interests concern recent concertos for Clarinet and band/wind
ensemble/wind chamber groups. My doctoral treatise (Florida State U) was
"An Annotated Survey of Original Clarinet Concertos with Wind or Chamber
Ensemble Written By American Composers Between 1978 and 1987." It turns
out there were twenty (20) concertos.

Send me information on anything concerning solo (double/triple) clarinet
and band or chamber groups. Thanks!
