I'm trying to keep an open mind, but, to use the above reasoning, pesto
pizza being one of my favorite entrees, and hazelnut geleto being one of
my favorite desserts, would make hazelnut gelato pesto pizza (thick or
thin crust?) a dish I could hardly wait to order. Do I want to hear Sting
sing Wotan? Can I hardly wait for Jim Carrey's commentaries on Critique
of Pure Reason to come out in paperback? Am I waiting for Kenny G. to
come up with an arrangement of the Brahms Quintet with a quartet of
synthesizers played by Yanni, Vangelis, John Tesh, and Brian Eno? (not
that I'm comparing ED with KG). No, no and no. The possibility exists
that ED's 5 Seasons will be a remarkably beautiful interpretation of
Vivaldi's piece, but, from where I'm sitting, it's hard not to hear the
slooshing of a soul being sold down the river Styx.
