Subj: grenadilla wood/mpingo tree

I just wondered if any of you saw on PBS the recent documentary on the series
"Nature" about the Mpingo tree. This is the tree that has the core of ebony,
grenadilla, or arican blackwood,(whichever you prefer to call it.) There was
some discussion about the quality of the wood in recent years. It seems that
because of the frequent burning to clear land in Tanzania, (one of the few
remaining sources) perhaps the core may be damaged and less stable. Great
