I have not done a great deal of mouthpiece research, but I do know that the
mouthpiece of choice (other than custom ones) around the NE Kansas and NW
Missouri (KC area) seems to be the Gigliotti P34. I personally do not own
one; but Larry Maxey (KU) and Patricia Kostek-Huebner (formerly UMKC) J.D.
Parr (Baker U.) all seem to recommend them. However, I do know that J.D. and
Dr. Maxey use custom mouthpieces.
Clear as mud? The truth is, try a bunch. If you're confused, let it go for
a while, then try some more. Find one that works for you. That seems to be
the consensus of most of the folks replying to the question. Beth
Morgenroth.
