Let me begin by saying that I am not only a clarinettist but a registered
nurse. If at all possible, try and determine what may be triggering your
h/a. Certain foods are not uncommon; work with your doctor on this. Also,
determine if you have an "aura" prior to an attack. Once an aura is
determined, TAKE YOUR MEDICATION (or as soon as the h/a begins if no aura
present). The sooner it is in your body, the better your chances of
preventing or at least dulling your h/a. For example, my wife has determined
that her aura is momentary loss of vision in her left eye. This condition
should not affect your clarinet playing (unless of course you have a h/a when
you want/need to play). Hope this helps.
