Hammer Music. Mike is a wonderful guy and incredibly knowledgeable in all
areas of the clarinet from repair right down to playing.

The other person that I would recommend is Mark Jacobi. He is listed in the
clarinet magazine and also in information. He's also a wonderful
repairperson
and very knowledgeable but his prices can, at times be a bit outrageous to
put
it mildly.

So there's the two people that I can point you toward. Good luck!!>>

I concur with the above recommendations. I've heard excellent reports
regarding Mike Hammer although I've had no dealings with him.

I have used Mark Jacobi for overhaul and rebuilding tenons and did not find
his rates outrageous at all. On the contrary, I thought what he charged me
for the work I had done was extremely reasonable. On the other hand, I was
not purchasing an instrument but having one serviced. There was a long wait
to before he was able to work on my instrument. I had to make an
appointment. His shop was somewhere on Chestnut Street near City Hall and
that was a few years ago.
