In the USA up North I have heard that they drink "iced coffee". I found that
out last year when my grandmother came down to the South and ordered it. The
only problem she had with this is once you pour the coffee over the ice you
can't add powdered cream. Anyways... When I drink hot coffee sometimes I may
add a piece of ice but if I'm in a hurry then I take a gulp and (this sounds
stupid) try to avoid the front of my tounge and let the liquid burn the back of
my tounge and throat. I haven't had a damage done to my throat you just feel
the burn. As they say, "Practice makes perfect!" :)
