In response to Rich Copeland's question about playing E-natural, I
have two comments: (1) your stand partner, or other assistant, may
have to help you with your tubing (so to speak) -- many European
flutists use C-foot instruments and in orchestral music requiring a
B-natural the assistant places his/her hand over the end of the
principal player's instrument to produce the B; (2) why not just
sight-transpose or write out the part for A clarinet???
