This reminds me of Contest time last year. I was adjudicating low brass
(Trombones, Euphoniums & Tubas), and an extremely petite freshman young
lady carried in an enormous EEb Tuba. She played very well, but after I
noticed how much she was struggling to carry the instrument, I asked her
why she chose the tuba. Her answer "all the other brass players were boys".
