Clark...I think my bass clar fits this category somewhere. It is #R577, and
I purchased it used in the late seventies. It looked pretty old then, and
was owned and used by Bill Hood, an L.A. recording and jazz woodwind player,
for a number of years before I bought it. It has stood me in good stead ever
since. It also seems to have the low notes extended at the factory. There
is a very small seam where the lower joint was joined. The low D, Db and C
are all played with the right thumb, and the middle B is marginally sharp,
but controllable, especially if I add the low C right thumb key. (I do this
when I have time.) It plays strong and even from the lowest notes to the
double high C, tunes well, and I probably would never sell it. Now, if I
could only make it fit into the Yamaha BC case, I would be a happy man. Lee
