( I need your suggestions, please!
The chamber group I'm a member of (basically a woodwind quintet and a
pianist) has been retained to play a concert at the Dallas Museum of Art in
conjunction with the museum featuring the Reves Collection of primarily
impressionist and post-impressionist paintings, sculpture and decorative arts
pieces. Some of the artists included in the collection include Monet, Degas,
van Gogh, Serrat, Lautrec, and many others.
We have some ideas for programming for this performance, and our pianist is
in Iowa City now going through the Voxman archive at the University of Iowa
Library, which is purported to contain many no longer published impressionist
works for various combinations of wind instruments. Without divulging what
we're considering (which might color what you all might suggest), do any of
the members of the Klarinet list have any ideas for appropriate works for any
combination of flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn and piano? We could also
come up with additional players, if there was a particularly great piece, but
we'd prefer to stay with our core group.
Any level of difficulty is fine.
Thanks for your help. )

Try the Poulanc Piano and wind Quint I love it...
