At the ICS conference in Flagstaff a few years ago I was told by Yamaha
that their Bass and Alto clarinets were made for them by Vito. Yes, I
do not have that relationship backwards, Japan subcontracted to Wisconsin.
I believe that Charles Bay also buys Vito Bass clarinets, reworks them and
sells them under his name. But we have already covered the problems in
reaching Charles.
